It’s a Black and Decker KC1252 and the drill works fine. The batteries are fine too. The charger keeps conking out. I’ve had three now and for no apparent reason they just stop working. They just don’t give a charge to the battery. Is there some kind of fuse that blows?

Sorry chum, chuck it away. For what you will pay for a charger you can get a whole new drill driver and batteries. 6 volts is pointless.
These cordless drills are so cheap now they are considered disposable. I have seen a drill with two batteries for £15

This is exactly the situation where Ebay is so very useful. You may have to persevere for a few days, but if you do a search for a “black and decker charger”, and trawl through the results you get, you will likely find someone selling either a charger or a charger and a battery. Selling those is just the thing you might do if your drill broke! If you have not used Ebay, well, now might be a time to see how useful it can be in the right situation. There is an Ebay site in most countries. ebay.com for the US; ebay.co.uk for the UK and so forth.
